My daughters frugal bedroom makeover.

My daughter has been helping our neighbor across the street every day with their new puppy. She goes over mid day and lets the puppy out of her kennel and plays with her to break up the day. Our wonderful neighbor gave her a $50.00 Kohl's gift certificate for helping her out which my daughter used to buy a new bed spread and the brown pillow you see on the bed. We found a great sale and only spent the $50.00  wahoo ! We chose something to match the already painted wall in sky blue. I nabbed the sweet little white bench at a yard sale for a dollar to put my daughters radio on and the basket on the table which is white washed and matches perfectly I nabbed for free at a yard sale.

The frame on the top right and the plastic basket vase on the bottom left I purchased for a dollar each at a thrift store, the two frames I already had but they were different colors. I spray painted them all the same color with the same paint I have used from my past few projects so there was no need to purchase more. The removable decals were bought at the dollar store, two panels for a dollar each. I love the way it turned out.

I found a set of plate hangers for $5.00 at a yard sale and spray painted them with my spray paint I had left over from another project. My daughter loves to draw and paint so instead of plates we decided to put canvas squares in them for my daughter to decorate and paint. My mother had bought these for her and we had not used them yet. I cannot wait to see what she paints and we can always change them out as she creates new masterpieces.

I snagged this frame for free at a yard sale and painted it to match the plate hangers and other frames in her room. I got the pretty removable decals at the dollar store, I used them all over her room. The basket I purchased for a quarter at a yard sale and the flowers I pulled from another arrangement in the house (free). I plan on putting a photograph of my daughter in the middle of the frame. This display is on another wall in my daughters room.

So for about $10.25 plus the $50.00 Kohls gift certificate that my daughter earned and a bit of elbow grease and creativity and yard sale shopping and thrift store shopping my daughter has a new room more suitable for a young lady which she is fast becoming. Another project done without breaking the bank. Hope this inspires your redecorating spirit.

Lots of love,
Kimberley
